Named in 1916. HMS Alcantara was a so-called Armed Merchant Cruiser (ie Liner) of 15,831 tons which was torpedoed and sunk in action with the German raider "Greif" in Feb.1916. WW I Official name.

First ascended in 1929 by Katie Gardiner, guided by Walter Feuz. Journal reference AJ 42-70; CAJ 18-28.
