Heart Mountain

Located in the Bow River Valley east of Heart Creek and opposite Exshaw. Kananaskis Park, Alberta

Named in 1957. There is a heart-shaped exposure of a thick layer of limestone at the summit of this peak. Official name.

Scrambling Routes
Difficulty Easy, with one moderate step via northwest ridge. Heart Mountain is close to Calgary, can often be ascended year-round owing to chinooks that blast the route bare. It makes a fine after-work outing from Calgary. Kane, Scrambles in the Canadian Rockies page 66
