Named in 1918. Byng, Viscount Julian H.G. (A frequent visitor to Jasper National Park, Lord Byng of Vimy served in the Boer War and as a general in WW I where he commanded t he Canadian Corps. He served as Governor General from 1921 until 1926.) Official name.

First ascended in 1934 by H.S. Crosby, guided by Rudolph Aemmer.
