Located on the continental divide in the upper Highwood River Valley at the head of Bishop Creek. Kananaskis Park, Alberta/BC border. Major headwaters Bow & Kootenay rivers.

Naming: The "horn" sticking out on the right hand side is easily seen from this location. As well, there is a bit of a horn sticking out of the left side. Unofficial name.

There are only a few mountains in this area of the Rockies which are named because of the fact that they resemble something but Horned Mountain is one of them. The "horn" sticking out on the right hand side is easily seen from the Highwood Valley. As well, there is a bit of a horn sticking out of the left side.
