Naming: Haffner, Henry John (After surveying the route for the Banff-Windermere Highway over Vermilion Pass and working as an engineer during its construcion, Henry Haffner was killed during World War II.) Official name.

Lt. Henry Haffner was said to have given "splendid service" with the 8th Field Company of the Canadian Engineers until he was killed by a sniper in 1916. (Akrigg)
