Named by George Wallerstein in 1968. Plaskett, John Stanley (A renown astronomer, John Plaskett served as the chief astronomer at the Dominion Observatory in Victoria, B.C.) Official name.


Other Information

Don Morton was part of a 1967 expedition organized by George Wallerstein during which the name was chosen. Morton wrote, "I suggested that we should name the peak." and "I was able to convince the Canadian Board of Geographic Names." (Journal of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada 87 (1993), 280.
