There is no record at the British Columbia Geographical Names Department as to who the person was that she was honouring with the name. It has been suggested that it was perhaps Henry Howard Baggs, an American artist who became well known for his paintings of the American Rockies. He was a professor in Lincoln, Nebraska who painted many landscapes mountainscapes for the Thos. D. Murphy and the Osborne calendar companies.
