Located in the upper Lyell Creek Valley, 3 km southwest of Mount Alexandra. Park, Major headwater Columbia River.

Named by Interprovincial Boundary Survey in 1919. According to the Interprovincial Boundary Surveyors, the mountain was, "so called owing to its very obvious white, snow-covered mass when seen from the valley below." Official name.
