Named for: Clitheroe is a municipal borough of Lancashire, England, home of the Clitheroe Royal Grammar School and one of the hillier districts of England.
On the day that he climbed and named the mountain, Morrison Bridgland wrote, "the lakes, reflecting in their placid waters the overshaddowing range (The Ramparts) with its varied snow-clad outlines and dark rugged cliffs formed a picture that is seldom equalled."
