Named by Samuel E.S. Allen in 1894. Ringrose, A.E.L. (Samuel Allen met Ringrose, an acquaintance from London, England, while visiting the Rockies.) Official name.

First ascended in 1909 by V.A. Fynn, E.F. PilkingtonJournal reference AJ 18-116, 25-81 CAJ 2-2 81.
