Located on the continental divide at the head of the Bennington Glacier and the head of Simon Glacier; 3 km southeast of Icefall Lake. on the border of Jasper & Mount Robson parks, Alberta/BC border. Major headwaters Athabasca & Fraser rivers.

Named in 1917. Fraser, Simon (A fur trader and one of Canada's most well known explorers, Simon Fraser discovered the Fraser River.) Official name.

First ascended in 1924 by Alfred J. Ostheimer, M.M. Strumia, J. Monroe Thorington, guided by Conrad Kain.

This massif known as Mount Fraser is made up of Simon Peak, Bennington Peak, and McDonnell Peak. Simon Peak is the highest of the three.
