Named by Interprovincial Boundary Survey in 1920. Bras Croche (This was the nickname given to a half breed trapper known by the peculiar set of his arm which had been broken in his youth when he was attacked by a bear.) Unofficial name.

First ascended in 1927 by Alfred J. Ostheimer, John de Laittre, guided by Hans Fuhrer.
