Named for: The pass is located along "The Rockwall," which is the name given to the impressive steep eastern slopes of the Vermilion Range in this area.

Headwaters (SW): Helmet Creek
The summits of Wolverine and Rockwall Passes are just a few hundred metres apart and are very close to being the same elevation. Wolverine Pass is on the Continental Divide whereas Rockwall Pass separates the headwaters of the Helmet Creek Valley from those of the Tumbling Creek Valley.
