Named by Named for Other Names Year Named

Location: The pass likely takes its name from nearby Mount Byng. Viscount Julian H.G. Byng was a frequent visitor to Jasper Park. Lord Byng of Vimy served in the Boer War and commanded the Canadian Corps in WW I. Later he was appointed governor general.
